Should I Get the COVID-19 Vaccination?

At this time we are recommending everyone to get the vaccine, including those who have already recovered from COVID-19.

Some benefits include:

  • It is 95% effective at preventing COVID-19 infection and may also protect those people living and working with you.
  • Getting COVID-19 may offer some natural protection but if you are infected, there is no way to know how it will affect you. Vaccination will be a safer way to build protection.
  • Vaccination will be an important tool to help stop the pandemic.

We continue to monitor and learn more daily. We will update our patients as more information becomes available.

For more information, Dr. Lukena Karkhanis answers your most common questions about the vaccine during a recent Facebook LIVE event.

COVID-19 AND ASTHMA

Asthma does not make you more likely to get COVID-19 but it may make asthma exacerbations worse. For more information on COVID-19 and Asthma, watch this Facebook LIVE video with Dr. Joseph Diaz, Medical Director of AllergySA.
